Solv Sealer Gold – Premium Solvent-Based Stone & Concrete Sealer
Ultimate penetrating protection for natural stone, concrete and porous masonry
Actichem Solv Sealer Gold (AP176) is a premium solvent-based penetrating sealer formulated to provide long-lasting protection against water, oil, staining, efflorescence and spalling. Its advanced nano-small particle fluorochemical technology penetrates deep into porous substrates to create an invisible, vapour-permeable barrier while maintaining the natural appearance of the surface.
Designed for high-performance sealing applications, Solv Sealer Gold is suitable for a wide range of natural stone, masonry, concrete and clay-based surfaces. Protection can last up to 15 years, depending on application, exposure, traffic and maintenance conditions.
Key Benefits
- Up to 15 Years Protection: Provides long-term protection when correctly applied and maintained.
- Advanced Penetrating Technology: Nano-small particle fluorochemical technology penetrates deep into fine pores.
- Stain Resistance: Helps protect porous surfaces against water, oil and staining.
- Efflorescence & Spalling Protection: Helps reduce moisture-related surface damage.
- Invisible Finish: Maintains the natural colour, texture and appearance of the substrate.
- Vapour Permeable: Allows moisture vapour to escape rather than becoming trapped within the substrate.
- Versatile: Suitable for fine stone, masonry, concrete, porous engineered stone and clay products.
- Surface Safe: Designed not to etch or discolour suitable marble and fine stone when correctly applied.
- High-Performance Sealing: Independently tested by a NATA-approved laboratory.
Ideal Applications
Solv Sealer Gold is suitable for protecting a wide range of porous surfaces, including:
- Granite
- Marble
- Limestone
- Travertine
- Basalt and bluestone
- Sandstone
- Slate
- Terracotta and Saltillo
- Quarry and terrazzo
- Brick and masonry
- Concrete
- Porous tiles and grout
Suitable for polished, honed, exfoliated, flamed and saw-cut stone surfaces.
Application & Surface Preparation
Always read and understand the SDS before use and pre-test in an inconspicuous area.
New installations must be fully cured before application. Allow a minimum of 48 hours, although some concrete installations may require up to 7 days. Consult the relevant structural engineer where required.
Existing stone and grout must be completely clean, dry and free from chemical residues.
Do not apply in direct sunlight. Application temperature should be between 10°C and 28°C. Do not apply if temperatures exceed 40°C or rain is expected within 2 hours. If rain has recently occurred, allow the surface to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
Directions for Use
- Apply 1–3 coats using a polish applicator, roller or suitable sprayer, working in manageable sections.
- Generously saturate the surface and ensure even coverage.
- Maintain a visibly wet liquid film on the surface for at least 1 minute. Highly porous substrates may require additional product.
- Allow approximately 5–10 minutes for absorption, then move excess product onto the next section using a squeegee.
- For additional coats, allow 20–30 minutes before repeating the application.
- After the final application, use absorbent towelling or an applicator to remove any remaining surface residue.
- For dried residue, lightly moisten the towel with methylated spirits to assist removal.
- Allow 12 hours before returning the area to traffic and keep the surface dry for 24 hours.
- Full cure is achieved in approximately 24–48 hours.
Coverage
Coverage varies according to substrate porosity:
- Highly porous/open substrates: approximately 5–15m²/L per coat
- Dense/less porous substrates: approximately 10–20m²/L per coat
Large concrete areas should be treated according to a predetermined coverage rate using suitable spraying or application equipment.
Expected Wear & Maintenance
Solv Sealer Gold can provide protection for up to 15 years, although actual service life depends on application quality, weather exposure, traffic and cleaning practices.
For harsh conditions, reapplication every 5–7 years is recommended.
Avoid prolonged use of solvents, strong acids and strong alkalis to help maximise sealer life. Actichem ProNeutro is recommended for routine cleaning of treated surfaces.
Important: Solv Sealer Gold is not designed for sub-terrain waterproofing.
