Pre-seal – Penetrating Presealer for Natural Stone

Pre-seal is a professional water-based penetrating presealer designed to protect fine stone, masonry and cement surfaces during fabrication, transportation and installation. It helps reduce moisture ingress, staining and installation defects while maintaining the natural breathability of the substrate.

Formulated to create a breathable water-repellent barrier, Pre-seal helps prevent moisture-related issues such as tile warping, grout moisture ingress and installation staining without trapping vapour within the surface.

Ideal for natural stone, pavers, terracotta and other porous construction materials, Pre-seal provides temporary protection before the application of a permanent penetrating sealer.

How to Use

Always read and understand the SDS before use and pre-test in an inconspicuous area for substrate sensitivity.

Preparation:

• Ensure the surface is completely clean, dry and free from chemicals or contaminants.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight.
• Apply between 10°C and 28°C.
• Coverage: approximately 5–20m² per litre per coat, depending on surface porosity.

Application:

1. Pre-seal is ready to use – no dilution required.
2. Apply generously using a polish applicator, roller or sprayer, ensuring even coverage and thoroughly saturating the surface.
3. Dip-sealing can also be used where six-sided sealing is required.
4. Maintain a visibly wet liquid film on the surface for at least 30 seconds. Highly porous surfaces may require additional product.
5. Allow approximately 5–10 minutes for the product to penetrate.
6. Remove excess product with a clean, dry towel.
7. After approximately 10 minutes, remove any remaining surface residue using absorbent towelling or an applicator. Dried residue can be removed with methylated spirits.
8. Allow 24 hours before fabrication or installation. Keep the surface dry for at least 12 hours.
9. Full cure is achieved in approximately 24–48 hours.
